Posted on October 26th, 2009 No Comments

A hunter has been seriously injured following an accident that took place in Pennsylvania on Friday.  The hunter was accidentally shot in the stomach by another hunter.

Once the man was shot,  his father called 911.  It was difficult for emergency officials to initially locate the man because of their location in the woods.  Once authorities arrived,  they had to use an ATV to escort the man to a waiting medical helicopter.

The accident is under investigation by hunting officials.  The condition of the man has improved since Friday.

Widow Sues Over Air Collision

Posted on October 8th, 2009 2 Comments

The widow of an airplane pilot who died in a midair collision in August over the Hudson River has recently brought suit against the owner of the helicopter and insurance companies.

The woman recently filed the suit in a Philadelphia federal court. The woman is suing the helicopter tour company for essentially causing the accident to take place.  Plans are also in the work for a suit to be filed against the Federal Aviation Administration because of the improper conduct of an air traffic controller that day.  An air traffic controller who was on duty at the time of the accident was on the phone at the time of the collision "flirting" with a girl.

The accident is still currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and a final report is expected to be released in the future.
