The state suspended the license of an abortion doctor Monday after raiding his Philadelphia clinic and discovering highly unsanitary conditions and unlicensed employees examining patients and administering medication. Investigators found fetus parts in jars, blood on the floor and a recovery area consisting of recliners. His license is suspended for 30 days, but it could extend to 180 days.
Dozens of lawsuits have been filed against him, authorities say, and two of his patients have died from botched procedures. He has been a licensed physician and surgeon since 1967. The National Abortion Federation said the clinic was not accredited.
