Three people were injured in a five-car accident in North Philadelphia Wednesday.
According to officials with the Philadelphia Police Department, one vehicle flipped on its side and another was pinned underneath several other vehicles. An eyewitness reports one of the drivers, a nurse, fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the center median.
There is no word from police on what caused the accident, and no information on the nature or extent of the injuries is available.
Broad Street was closed from Erie Avenue to Venango Streets while emergency personal worked to clear the wreckage and rescue people from the vehicles.
