On Friday in Pittsburgh a pit bull attacked three different people, and was ultimately killed by a police officer.

The attack took place near the Crafton Heights Town Homes around 6 p.m. at night. The canine initially bit a Pittsburgh police officer, and then lunged towards a security guard, who was bitten numerous times as he tried to control the animal.A young child also suffered an injury to the chest, and that is when the officer fired the fatal shot.

All of the dog attack victims were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their varying injuries. The owners of the dog will be charged appropriately for the incident.

6-year old needs 35 stitches after dog attack

Last week, a 6-year old girl from Lawrence Township, Ohio went to the hospital after her neighbor’s dog bit her.  The young girl needed 35 stitches to repair injuries to her face.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, a black Labrador Retriever from the neighbor’s house, which the girl had played with before, walked over to the 6-year old’s home and stood outside a sliding glass door.  The girl opened the door to pet the dog, and the animal attacked, biting her face.

The 6-year old was taken to the emergency room at Children’s Hospital in Columbus.  Police, the dog’s owners, and witnesses to the attack are unsure of what led the dog to bite, but they are investigating the incident.
