Women’s multivitamins recalled for child safety risk

Last Thursday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and General Nutrition Corporation announced the recall of GNC Women’s multivitamins.
The recalled products include GNC Women’s Ultra Mega, GNC Women’s Ultra Mega Active, GNC Women’s Ultra Mega Energy and Metabolism, and GNC Prenatal Formula with Iron multivitamins.
The recall was issued nationwide after officials realized that the recalled GNC products contain iron yet do not have the child-resistant packaging that is required by law. Children who consume any of the iron-containing vitamins are at risk for serious illness, injury, and even death.
Officials recommend throwing out the recalled product immediately or be sure to keep them out of the reach of children.
